Baby Blanket Bingo. Knitters: Chime in, please!

I've been perusing Ravelry, and while I love all the sorting and sifting capabilities of the site to narrow down what I'm looking for, the choices still seem to overwhelm.  I'm getting ready to start some new projects, and a baby blanket is among them.  I'm not looking for anything too elaborate; just something cuddly and warm that will keep my interest.

I'd love to hear from my knitting friends what your favorite baby blanket pattern is, and why.  Please post a comment if you have one to share.  I'll owe you one.  Thanks!

  1. My favorite at this time is the Baby Love Diagonal Baby Blanket by Lion Brand. It is simple, and monotonous...so good TV or movie or knitting group pattern, but when it is finished, you have a lovely row of eyelets around the edge, it looks great with a ribbon twined through, or with a crochet top stitch through the edge for a more masculine look. You can change it up with self striping yarn, or you can make your own stripes. It is versatile, and soft and squishy.

    Hope this helps!

I can give you more suggestions if you tell me if it's sex specific, mindless stockinette, motifs, cables, lace, blocks (if you don't mind seaming when knitting is done), or combo.

You're in my thoughts and prayers. Do let me know if there is anything you need. It'd be an honor to be able to help :D

    Blessings,

  3. I want to do a log cabin blanket. They really intrigue me - simple knitting, but with a lot of steps to keep it interesting. Michelle has a wonderful version on her site: http://pdxknitterati.com/patterns/log-cabin-baby-blanket/

Keep on knitting! Let's plan a session.
